Yesterday the FCC decided, against the wishes of millions of citizens, to move ahead with the idea of allowing internet “fast lanes” putting an effective end to the concept of Net Neutrality. This is not something that has been done lightly or happened quickly. The Cable lobby has been busy for years hounding Congress, bullying municipalities, and doing everything they can to ensure that a majority of the nation never has more than 1 cable operator per city and 1 quality broadband internet provider, most often being the cable company, and to gain the right to charge more for accessing the internet. My thoughts on this are strong and it would be difficult to write about this without sounding like a belligerent child just beat at an FPS game smashing curse words into his keyboard, so instead I’ve summed up my thoughts in what might be the most important infographic in the history of the internet.
