Imgur’s home page is the same for everyone, meaning if your meme or graphic makes it to that homepage the whole world (of Imgur users) sees that content. The website is known largely for hosting images, gifs, and memes. While Imgur started out as a sort of love letter to Reddit, the service today incorporates Reddit’s famous voting and the two have been separating from each other. The website skews largely towards younger (Millenial) males. Imgur allows other brands to advertise using their unique formats, but the advertising or “promoted posts” are not in a self-serve format and require large budgets.
